Alright, so I wasn't serious when I said that I wouldn't blog again until September. September seemed so far away. Unfortunately for me the blog has become a seasonal script. But in the event that anyone is still reading this, maybe just my posterity, the summer of 2010 can't go without mentioning a few good times.
Dave and I started the summer off with what any 'family focused' couple would, a vacation, without the kids. In June we headed to the "concrete jungle where dreams are made of" New York! Dave goes to New York two or three times a year on business and I try my darnedest to occasionally tag along. I don't think I have ever blogged about a NY trip. This time we invited Dave's brother Mike and his wife Nanette to come with us. They had never been so good times were sure to be had by all!!
First stop, Time Square. A definite must see if you are visiting New York. I love Time Square. I love just sitting in the middle of it to get the biggest sensory overload known to man. It never gets old.

Next stop, Top of the Rock. Another must do in NY. It's very hard to see all of NY in one visit but from Top of the Rock you can pretty much see it all. It's $20 to get to the top but in my opinion the breathtaking views are worth it.
When you go with a business man (especially when he is paying for your trip) you've got to stop at Wall St. and the New York Stock Exchange. Knight Trans stock is traded on the NYSE so Dave is able to get us on the floor. It's amazing and I feel all smart and business-like when I am down there. It's a stretch for me I know.
I love downtown and the financial district. I love how old and historic it is. It's hard to find a building built before 1950 in Phoenix. Really I just want to brake out in dance to a song from "Newsies". I'll have to download it on my ipod next time. That will be for you Carmin!
And what better way to complete the trip then a bike ride through Central Park. No good pictures though. This is a picture of the Jackie Kennedy Onassis Reservoir in Central Park. It's a huge body of water but it only takes up about an 1/8 of the park. It shows just how ginormous the park is.
Well that is just the beginning of the summer. I'm falling asleep so I'll have to continue tomorrow. Yes, tomorrow and not three months from now. I promise.

Looks like fun! We have never been but hope to go (with NO kids) to enjoy all of the sights NY has to offer. Glad you guys could get away for a minute....even if it WAS a buisiness trip!
That Newsies number you plan to do . . . I fully expect to see it on Youtube, dedicated to your BFF.
Last night some YW leaders and I were remembering how Newsies was considered such a flop the year it was made. We finally concluded that it was ahead of its time . . . It would do really well right now with all the popular musicals.
Perfect description of Times Square--biggest sensory overload known to mankind. I loved my weekend jaunts up there while I lived in DC!
