A Water Baby is Born!

Ella got in the pool for the first time on Saturday.  And despite the concerned look on her face, she loved it!  It will be so fun to create new memories with her this summer!  (Although most of our swimming will probably be during her nap time.)

My Non-Mobile But Oh So Lovable Baby

At 10 months Ella doesn't move much.  She doesn't crawl.  She doesn't pull herself up.  She barely even rolls.  So what does she do?  She is really good at conserving energy.  She just sits there and plays and smiles and looks adorable.  Worried?  No, at nine months I asked the doctor if I should be concerned.  But since big brother Quinn didn't crawl until two days before his first birthday he said not to worry.  The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.  Ella is way to content to worry herself with that crawling business.  In fact, I think that if I get a guard dog to protect her and sit Ella on the floor with a bottle within her reach, I could leave the house for several hours and come back to a perfectly happy little baby.  But instead I will just kiss on her and love her and enjoy the fact that she is not in a big hurry to grow up.  My sweet baby girl.

Proud Mama

Aubrey was one of only two Kindergartners in her school that was chosen to display an art piece at the district art show!  Yeah Aubrey!

A Week of Field Trips

I think May is the unofficial "Field Trip Month".  My girls both went on their first field trip of the year (It was Dailee's first field trip EVER and she's in second grade!).  So naturally, they both wanted their mom to accompany them.  And if that wasn't enough, I decided to throw in a Joy School field trip too!  So here it goes...

Aubrey's was first.  We went to the Wildlife World Zoo, it's a west valley favorite.  Just me , a few animals and 100 Kindergartners.  Actually, there were so many parents that signed up to help that I was only responsible for Aubrey and one other little girl, Cara.  I couldn't help but wonder if the great parent turn out is a sign of involved parents or tough economic times.

Aubrey feeding the giraffe.  It's a Zoo favorite.

Some tired kids at the end of a long day.

So I asked Aubrey how she liked her field trip and she replied..."I hated it.  I didn't even get to ride any rides."  Yes, the Zoo has rides and for a small fee of between $3 and $6 Aubrey, Cara and the other six children we were walking with could have ridden the rides.  But since me and the other parents I was with didn't feel like forking out the money we conformed that, just to make it fair, no one would ride the rides.  Boy, did that ruin Aubrey's day.

Quinn's field trip was next.  We went to the Children's Museum of Phoenix.  We had a ball!  We were there for four hours and could have stayed longer.  I would highly recommend this museum but keep a close eye on your kids.  If you blink you'll loose them.

Quinn in the "grocery store"

There is a race car area that Quinn absolutely loved.  I couldn't get him to leave.

I was trying to take a picture of Quinn crawling toward me but he wouldn't cooperate.  This was the best I could do.

And last but not least, Dailee and I went to the Science Center.  I've decided I like the Science Center a lot better with older kids.  I've been there a lot but it has always been with preschoolers.  Now I know to take the preschoolers to the Children's Museum.  It's a much better fit for them.

Poor Ella

I saw these pictures for the first time when I downloaded them on to my computer.  I guess being the youngest has its disadvantages.

Picky Eater

My little Aubrey usually has a hard time enjoying the food that I put in front of her.  So the other day she informed me that she needed a new tongue because the one she has just doesn't like anything.  Hmmm we'll have to look in to that.
