Our precious Emery has finally arrived (actually she arrived two weeks ago but I'm just now blogging about it). She was five days late (yes, I was induced) and weight in at 8.4 lbs. I'll post more pictures soon! <div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCtMPe6cWKlwSBMBDhLefenPJJLXqYdIbWKCu1LsRWgNEJcf85M68Ow4cJkK27MyvaTZ9HpKGyF6KfF2ncCuUVLo0ki5nKBcqVY5JqRjppcT7aHxVcGXrfbkE-O8fidhYyEwb1wTuUpxQ/s1600/IMG_1167.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"></a></div>JacksonFamilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12418270321381526506noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-851027988350468981.post-35203129727631125432012-02-06T20:35:00.000-08:002012-02-07T13:08:28.831-08:00One YearWell, it has officially been one year and almost one month since I last blogged. I'm not really sure why, plenty has happened since then. A few weeks ago Aubrey came in to the kitchen and announced, "Well, we have all learned a valuable lesson. Size eight under ware does not fit me." As she proceeds to tuck in her under ware to her jeans. Then I remembered why I should start blogging again. My kids say and do funny and cute things and I'm not going to remember them unless I write them down. And when they are teenagers I'm going to need a reminder of how cute and funny they once were. Like the way Ella begins everything she wants to tell me with "Once upon a time". Dailee is going to be 11 tomorrow. ELEVEN! When did that happen? Am I old enough to have an 11 year old? <div><div><br /></div><div>Some of you probably know from my Christmas card that I am expecting again. I'm due March 3rd. We decided not to find out what we are having just to mix things up a little bit and try to make this 5th pregnancy a little more interesting. The best part about not finding out has been people's reaction. It really drives some people crazy. So, let me know your prediction, boy or girl? People keep asking me what my motherly intuition tells me, but I honestly have no idea. I'm thinking probably girl, you can't really go wrong with a girl but deep down I think I'm really hoping it's a boy for Quinn (and Dave). <div><br /></div><div>Quinn is convinced it's a girl and when I asked him why he said "Because of Grandma Terry". My mom, Grandma Terry, had five girls and one boy. So Quinn just figures he will be the only boy just like his Uncle John. I'm kind of glad he's taking this approach instead of having is heart set on a baby brother and possibly setting himself up for disappointment. Aubrey and Ella also think its a girl, but Dave and Dailee are holding out for a boy. We'll know in about 26 days, not that I'm counting:)</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div></div></div>JacksonFamilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12418270321381526506noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-851027988350468981.post-87373715526985302832011-01-11T21:06:00.000-08:002011-01-11T21:33:48.269-08:00Summer Vacation<div><div style="text-align: center; ">Alright, well since its January I figure now's a good time to post some summer vacation pictures. Maybe by May I'll post some Christmas pictures.</div><div style="text-align: center; "><br /></div><div style="text-align: center; ">The last time Dave and I took the kids to the beach Dailee was 2 1/2 and Aubrey was 6 months. So on the 24th of July weekend we headed to the beach! The kids had a blast! Dailee is quite the boogie boarder and she even got mom to give it a try. Not pictures of that though. </div><div style="text-align: center; "><br /></div><div style="text-align: center; ">I can't go without mentioning the hotel that we stayed in. It wasn't quite as fun as the beach. Our room was about 15 x 15. There was room for a queen size bed but not much else. And in the bathroom, when you sat on the toilet your head it the pedestal sink. But hey, it wouldn't be a family vacation without a little Grizwald experience. </div></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhR3HOnmucOkSx0tBDaIBfZsQVj-PjVOhMc9pFwXWN8NJjLgHhQ1VV6sbD9XGoSfo9AM9bRgkSEjHSvb26AG8r2PSv44CjnTdznOmaquMvPq_op0FNWTXepmnwZjfv4m6bSvhMVNN6u0Mk/s1600/DSCF0182.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhR3HOnmucOkSx0tBDaIBfZsQVj-PjVOhMc9pFwXWN8NJjLgHhQ1VV6sbD9XGoSfo9AM9bRgkSEjHSvb26AG8r2PSv44CjnTdznOmaquMvPq_op0FNWTXepmnwZjfv4m6bSvhMVNN6u0Mk/s320/DSCF0182.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5561165079520642178" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBIIfXnGgXM5nCtwA6h13kI58GVM9KzmZnWlCRPtrzhhd13KDFZJl5V6C08cwavoDvG2Lcek_Sav-F26DnnftyjLgz0SlPmGjq_0WT0z6OW78JzY8dE4BeyoMS_glwReO-6gwHCntr3LA/s1600/DSCF0202.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBIIfXnGgXM5nCtwA6h13kI58GVM9KzmZnWlCRPtrzhhd13KDFZJl5V6C08cwavoDvG2Lcek_Sav-F26DnnftyjLgz0SlPmGjq_0WT0z6OW78JzY8dE4BeyoMS_glwReO-6gwHCntr3LA/s320/DSCF0202.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5561163094248935426" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinho_7TKfIRyL_z6YdaT1-2dvUvAkwFpiJ99NORtDQyl2FsEqCV2xTlgYmpi1fLqQbAx_1IEe0KxeRDGPaTHgGwFQu-Xe4CrovRqxeCwW75Fs69OBajMnKINSgtChdZtSxihkn8cbvkbQ/s1600/DSCF0184.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinho_7TKfIRyL_z6YdaT1-2dvUvAkwFpiJ99NORtDQyl2FsEqCV2xTlgYmpi1fLqQbAx_1IEe0KxeRDGPaTHgGwFQu-Xe4CrovRqxeCwW75Fs69OBajMnKINSgtChdZtSxihkn8cbvkbQ/s320/DSCF0184.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5561163087469659394" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLF9prUOlCxdSBHLb5Im59u4x5dhRLz2ryu9OAt_qVad-C1bZLgJi701ggDEl1kld80G50UerZXIqOKIWdZSTKIZANRPchkCz2UwVFJNNREtpOzyDZFeD-1OymH_-uMkWy7HKb_JUc0dw/s1600/DSCF0203.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLF9prUOlCxdSBHLb5Im59u4x5dhRLz2ryu9OAt_qVad-C1bZLgJi701ggDEl1kld80G50UerZXIqOKIWdZSTKIZANRPchkCz2UwVFJNNREtpOzyDZFeD-1OymH_-uMkWy7HKb_JUc0dw/s320/DSCF0203.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5561163080436090818" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIx34NiJPv29QIymeTXQaLpfWjRDIhttINhWvYAyiBtoZKfpstHSKqfwsd1YJxX1HDjCm4_eTL1fKbOH39qJlG6ef5QJyjyv6uYCzF3aENjcTg7zY3e2DtI_Iha6mjqo_Rg8bll0jj3Rw/s1600/DSCF0189.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIx34NiJPv29QIymeTXQaLpfWjRDIhttINhWvYAyiBtoZKfpstHSKqfwsd1YJxX1HDjCm4_eTL1fKbOH39qJlG6ef5QJyjyv6uYCzF3aENjcTg7zY3e2DtI_Iha6mjqo_Rg8bll0jj3Rw/s320/DSCF0189.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5561163081196734082" /></a><div><br /></div>JacksonFamilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12418270321381526506noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-851027988350468981.post-77312024099756829402010-09-13T20:12:00.000-07:002010-09-13T20:25:12.485-07:00CNBC's Interview with the Sexiest Man Alive<div>While in NY last week, Dave made time for a quick interview from Erin Burnett on CNBC. September seemed so far away. Unfortunately for me the blog has become a seasonal script. But in the event that anyone is still reading this, maybe just my posterity, the summer of 2010 can't go without mentioning a few good times.</div><div><br /></div><div>Dave and I started the summer off with what any 'family focused' couple would, a vacation, without the kids. In June we headed to the <i>"concrete jungle where dreams are made of" New York! </i>Dave goes to New York two or three times a year on business and I try my darnedest to occasionally tag along. I don't think I have ever blogged about a NY trip. This time we invited Dave's brother Mike and his wife Nanette to come with us. They had never been so good times were sure to be had by all!!</div><div><br /></div><div>First stop, Time Square. A definite must see if you are visiting New York. I love Time Square. I love just sitting in the middle of it to get the biggest sensory overload known to man. It never gets old. </div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB3hxxCYDTUvMtBNXfALX0lNpLk7DezA-Vdmzs0onjf8SJkbEt9Na54xVTu-HmeBNJsNAFzOZi16DvnRxBFsuViBVvIPxiPIl3MgdxUJXKu51bEX7Nvu7h0V2nttZp7LBtGvrgulZdSWs/s1600/DSCF0012.jpg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB3hxxCYDTUvMtBNXfALX0lNpLk7DezA-Vdmzs0onjf8SJkbEt9Na54xVTu-HmeBNJsNAFzOZi16DvnRxBFsuViBVvIPxiPIl3MgdxUJXKu51bEX7Nvu7h0V2nttZp7LBtGvrgulZdSWs/s320/DSCF0012.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5514414782019338482" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px; " /></a>Hey look!!! The two seats next to me were empty the entire first quarter then at the beginning of the second quarter Larry and his friend sit down. I glanced to see who was sitting next to me then turned to Dave and said, "I feel like I should know this person sitting next to me". Dave looked over and replied "Yeah, that's Larry Fitzgerald". I just about peed my pants. After I gained composure and went from red to pink I leaned over to Larry and said "I'm not sure which is better, sitting court side or sitting next to Mr. Fitzgareld". And one thing that is completely troubling her these days is the fact that she has not lost a tooth. Aubrey will be 7 years old tomorrow, she is more then half way through the 1st grade, and much to her dismay, she still has all her baby teeth in tact. Two weeks ago we went to the dentist for a routine cleaning and Aubrey received what she called "The worst news of my life!!!" The dentist informed her that it would probably be another 12 months or so before she looses a tooth. AAAHHHHHH!!!! <div><br /></div><div>Just to put into perspective how troubling this is to this little girl I'll take you back to presidents day weekend. Our cousins Brittany and Lauren were spending the night and Brittany knocked Lauren in the mouth and her loose tooth popped right out. This devastated Aubrey (the popping not the knocking) and she ran into her bedroom to sulk. Dave went in to console her to which Aubrey replied...</div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>"I'm never going to loose a tooth and the Tooth Fairy is never going to visit me. I put a broken nail under my pillow and the Nail Fairy didn't even come." </div><div>So I guess Aubrey has resulted in putting other broken or "lost" objects under her pillow just so she can get some dumb fairy to visit her. Well, Aubrey, some lessons you learn the hard way. Happy Birthday Auby Daubs and thanks for making me laugh. </div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span> </div>JacksonFamilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12418270321381526506noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-851027988350468981.post-67922665508931558732010-02-04T11:42:00.000-08:002010-02-04T12:11:48.120-08:00Answer: Overused at the knee<div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#0000EE;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="text-decoration: underline;"><br /></span></span></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7hZ5_4_e9hHShGBSUThvLOJv91gKYNwGgTx1jirR7-M6ylkMzT-gScAUEI-m03XHHVqWZMD23S2ZDB3k2kZYyuyo7jCNnrb1ExFoBJ0JtDOC6PhrMS_zuZ70dBgGA65wvEiBv2U8fN0Y/s1600-h/100_1201.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7hZ5_4_e9hHShGBSUThvLOJv91gKYNwGgTx1jirR7-M6ylkMzT-gScAUEI-m03XHHVqWZMD23S2ZDB3k2kZYyuyo7jCNnrb1ExFoBJ0JtDOC6PhrMS_zuZ70dBgGA65wvEiBv2U8fN0Y/s320/100_1201.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5434477946184168386" /></a><div><br /></div>Question: What are Ella's pants? Although my overall experience is positive and it was a much more enjoyable race then I expected, I do have one complaint; PORT-A-JOHNS. There are few things that are more important at a racing event then having a sufficient number of port-a-johns. Five port-a-johns for about 300 racers just doesn't cut it. I didn't feel like waiting in the forever line before the race, and it wasn't a total emergency, so I figured I would just wait and use one of the johns on the route. Then, seconds before the gun sounded, I was informed that there are no johns on the route. Not one port-a-john for 13 miles, lovely. I'm not sure who you though was running your race but some of us have given birth a few times over. And we don't have control of some parts of our body like we use to. It's nice that there was 13 miles of see-through brush along the route, maybe next year I'll practice my squatting techniques. But just in case I forget, a john around mile 7 or 8 would be greatly appreciated.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:medium;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:medium;">Yours Truly,</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;">Becky Bladder </span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:medium;"> </span></div>JacksonFamilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12418270321381526506noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-851027988350468981.post-22306942747399241152010-01-27T08:47:00.000-08:002010-01-27T09:32:58.874-08:00I CAN DO HARD THINGS!This past Saturday the wonderful ladies I run with and I decided to do a 10 mile run. This run is in preparation for a 1/2 marathon we decided to sign up for about a week and a half ago (the 1/2 is on Saturday). Pretty crazy but the 1/2 marathon is in preparation for another crazy race we signed ourselves up for. Anyway, it has been a while since I have run that many miles so I knew I needed to get a good nights sleep. Dave and I went out Friday night but we got home at a decent time after eating a carb enriched dinner. After I got back from taking the babysitter home I went to check on Ella and I heard the most distinct and unmistakable cough...the croup. She didn't feel warm and she was still sleeping so I put the humidifier in her room and figured she would wake me up if she needed me. As I was just drifting off to sleep at about 11:30 (much later then I planned) Ella started calling and crying. And this is how the rest of my night went...<div><br /></div><div>11:30 - Get Ella and bring her in my room.</div><div>11:45 - My sweet hubby takes Ella into a hot steamy shower to help her breath so I can get <span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>some sleep. </div><div>12:15ish - Our fire alarm goes off. When Dave opened the bathroom door all of the steam set <span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>off the alarm. </div><div>12:30ish - Dave finally gets the alarm shut off. </div><div>1:00 - Ella drifts off to sleep.</div><div>1:15 - Dailee comes in our room in a panic over Ella being sick and the fire alarm going off (very <span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>understandable).</div><div>1:30 - Dailee calms down and sleeps in the chair in our room.</div><div>1:30 - SLEEP!!!</div><div>3:00 - Aurbrey wakes up and is barfing in our toilet#@#!!??? Dave, again to the rescue as I lay <span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>in bed wishing I was asleep dreaming about the 10 mile run. </div><div>3:30ish - Quinn wets his bed. </div><div>4:00ish - Just try not to think of anything but sleep.</div><div>5:45 - Alarm goes off!!! Put on those running shoes!!!</div><div>6:00 - 7:30 - RUN 10 MILES!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>Yes, I did it and I proved to myself that I can do hard things, at least physically anyway. I just hope I'm not barfing Saturday morning...</div><div><br /></div><div> </div>JacksonFamilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12418270321381526506noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-851027988350468981.post-72354235886942950952010-01-27T07:57:00.000-08:002010-01-27T08:44:40.407-08:00Before I totally regret not posting anything about Christmas...<div>Christmas was wonderful as always. For the first time in our marriage I got to hang our stockings from a chimney with care. I love having a fireplace. I never really thought much of having a fireplace here in the desert. My parents have one and they have never lit it once in 21 years. So I always thought they were kind of pointless. But, we have used ours a lot this month and I am hooked. I love how watching a log burns makes me feel so peaceful. I love how my kids run to it after their showers so they can warm up. I love how my stockings look hanging from it. I love how Ella goes up to the fire and tries to blow it out. I love how excited Quinn gets every time we tell him we are going to light a fire and he runs out to the garage to carry in the heavy log. And I love the handful of memories I now have from this ol' fireplace. Cheesy but true.JacksonFamilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12418270321381526506noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-851027988350468981.post-68751220082268565612009-12-22T21:06:00.000-08:002009-12-22T21:49:32.842-08:00The Phoenix Temple, Part II<div>So tonight is the Eve before the Eve of Christmas Eve. Whatever you did today, I'm sure it had something to do with getting ready for Christmas. I wrapped presents and took my sick baby to the doctor. On my way home from the doctor I couldn't help but be discouraged at what this lady chose to do on Christmas Eve Eve Eve...</div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEk75FeuDPE9xKbd6vHcqqNOseJLoqs6P1HgtSZyaBhcO9YnlBGmHtOQVQp24lA4jt-oyg_tToAiNNwHFr75fsoS5Uwur3pQftlJJSneHBSxxG44i6PkfeP-UYEzA9NTb-lTIXUw8gGpU/s1600-h/100_1105.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEk75FeuDPE9xKbd6vHcqqNOseJLoqs6P1HgtSZyaBhcO9YnlBGmHtOQVQp24lA4jt-oyg_tToAiNNwHFr75fsoS5Uwur3pQftlJJSneHBSxxG44i6PkfeP-UYEzA9NTb-lTIXUw8gGpU/s320/100_1105.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5418293943733471042" /></a>Yes, they are working hard. Flagging down drivers on 55th Ave to sign their petitions. They were also at the elementary school on Friday and the church building on Sunday. It's unfortunate that on the week we celebrate our Lords birth, they are trying to stop His temple from being built. I guess it just comes with having three kids in school. We go from Halloween to Thanksgiving to Christmas in just a matter of weeks. Once one party is done it's time to prepare for the next! Well I'll spare you the pictures of all of those parties but I can't go without posting about one of the wildest parties of the year. Dave turned the 34 last month! HBD2U Sweetie!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilwJn5d-c2ZpQY-UAkdtBRhQ6XwmEFr0Hd236zx08WRDxyFKwIcPC-lH39K8hcwmFltBEtTqDeY-_8dZdJoonmRUpJCae_HX6KLI2RN-o1mQ1Ko43OnIUrwVt_lWwDLA-KBzC25iPOe0g/s320/100_1055.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5415605145253330402" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px; " /></span></div><div style="text-align: center;">I tried my hand at fondant. And as all of you may know it was approved unanimously, yeah!!! But you may not know that the oppositions fight is far from over. As I have attended these meetings, I am pretty bothered at the extent of hatred these people have for this beautiful building, the Lords Temple. The fact is is that the church owns the property and can build a temple on it. The only reason we have been through this process is because the building ordinance only allows a 30' structure and the temple is 40'. So the church is asking the city for approval of only 10 extra feet. That's it, 10 feet, not approval to build. *Major side note: steeples, spires, bell towers etc., are not restricted at all. They can be as high as you want want. So, is the neighborhood in a frenzy over 10 feet???? No, they are in a frenzy over the temple being built at all. They are hoping that if they huff and they puff they will blow this temple away. Here are the huffs and puffs....<div><br /></div><div>1. Traffic - The neighborhood is very concerned that the temple will cause major traffic issues. It's a legit concern I admit. However.....What they don't understand is that traffic into the temple is more of a trickle then a down poor. This isn't a church that has a couple of meeting times a week and needs cops to control the traffic. But more importantly, a traffic study has been done and the traffic engineers have found no concern for the traffic in this area being effected by the temple. Neighbors, do you know what this means???? The City actually has engineers who's job is to study traffic. They are professional traffic studiererers. So if they say traffic won't be an issue then <b>TRAFFIC WON'T BE AN ISSUE!!</b></div><div><br /></div><div>2. Lighting - It's true that all temples are lit up at night. And this neighborhood does have a dark sky ordinance. There are no street lights in the neighborhood because the people like to see the stars. So again, this is a legit concern. However....This temple is not going to be lit up like the Mesa, Salt Lake, San Diego, or even Gilbert Temples. The lighting is going to be much less as to comply to the dark sky ordinance. Did you hear that neighbors???? <b>It complies with the dark sky ordinance!!!</b> We did that just for you and we are even going to turn them off an hour early for you. Happy now??? Of course you're not. </div><div><br /></div><div>Now a new concern about the lighting was brought up last night and this is just way to good not to mention. A new opposer came to speak. She supposedly represents the <i>Friends of Thunderbird Park. </i>Her concern was that the lighting on the temple was going to cause the extinction of at least 4 different species in the park. What??? And it was also going to cause breast cancer in women. Okay, I know I'm no scientist but I'm a little more concerned about the 150 foot power lines that run through the neighborhood causing cancer, not the temple lights. Oh yeah, and did I mention <b>they are in compliance with the dark sky ordinance?</b></div><div><br /></div><div>3. Blocked views - This is a beautiful area surrounded by mountains. I too would love to have panoramic views of the mountains. But I don't. My views are blocked by houses, RV garages and the hundreds and hundreds of mature trees in the neighborhood. I dare say only about 25% of the homes in the area will even be able to see the spier of the temple. Only about 5% will be able to see the actual building. And really, how much of a mountain does a spier block? Lean to the left, lean to the right and you'll see the whole mountain, I promise. </div><div><br /></div><div>4. It just doesn't fit in with the neighborhood - Well of course it doesn't fit in to our neighborhood people. It's the House of the Lord. There is not a neighborhood in America or on this entire planet that a temple "fits" in to. It is a majestic, glorious, beautiful, sacred, serene building. Of none comparison to anything else on this planet. Any neighborhood is extremely lucky (I prefer blessed) to have one. </div><div><br /></div><div>And so you have it then, the major concerns of the opposition. They are currently working to collect over 9,000 legit signatures in 30 days. If they succeed it will force the rezoning to go to the ballot so the voters can decide. Thus, pushing back the project and hoping the church will give up and go somewhere else. Please keep this temple in your prayers. The fight is not over yet. Pray that hearts may be softened and the Lord's temple can be built. </div>JacksonFamilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12418270321381526506noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-851027988350468981.post-62656461542173127632009-11-09T20:26:00.001-08:002009-11-09T20:29:23.924-08:00Happy Halloween!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2p89LsQObYSsS7leJdCvt0yE7kjBvuuzoUzo4xoxfYsNDUuCNcN5JkZchKpKdN2zua9ZR_c2_qBusQzxV8bVmK-felN87Ylo13svfw7B8j_NVNMMS8OsVg9xVfWU-yIUDUqbGVaCo4Tc/s1600-h/100_1039.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2p89LsQObYSsS7leJdCvt0yE7kjBvuuzoUzo4xoxfYsNDUuCNcN5JkZchKpKdN2zua9ZR_c2_qBusQzxV8bVmK-felN87Ylo13svfw7B8j_NVNMMS8OsVg9xVfWU-yIUDUqbGVaCo4Tc/s200/100_1039.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402327299809854946" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRb_ILtuVIHVGuJWgwqg2omQJHRDHUKkXlZ_WIBBcPdKYZyxeYZ25LcS3UTH66nJlpHBhNR98izvToi5e4g9qA9OoYQ8xGh6m9uOmRJygkSDsOFdvDaUl_SxkhMth_CdRldh50XpPBads/s1600-h/100_1038.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRb_ILtuVIHVGuJWgwqg2omQJHRDHUKkXlZ_WIBBcPdKYZyxeYZ25LcS3UTH66nJlpHBhNR98izvToi5e4g9qA9OoYQ8xGh6m9uOmRJygkSDsOFdvDaUl_SxkhMth_CdRldh50XpPBads/s200/100_1038.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402327298475315858" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-7HsmOjjYxnfFXyh75410eImJxvDfuMNnECX7VHNaocWuIZbFsGKTVEsHKEQXrQEZnFuWBdg1xGtAcxVDGI0cJqD3Mif18s8hyphenhyphen17zhrdwk8V_dGC-qDk9mL89OWsoLJE-IdIJ1sl9jCc/s1600-h/100_1034.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-7HsmOjjYxnfFXyh75410eImJxvDfuMNnECX7VHNaocWuIZbFsGKTVEsHKEQXrQEZnFuWBdg1xGtAcxVDGI0cJqD3Mif18s8hyphenhyphen17zhrdwk8V_dGC-qDk9mL89OWsoLJE-IdIJ1sl9jCc/s200/100_1034.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402327294274123618" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdob4aSs7heUmXQUKjjCwC-ji6wx3IwVU91mrSSlfrkhBH97H2iVWqFyg6FwsQR6KmeWORBl5DoDzvol5BqQMp95D8vX5Ge6uOhbF2BSEweaaDSGpVVqLHJT1DNJsddRbNDv1XOMRxO3k/s1600-h/100_1030.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdob4aSs7heUmXQUKjjCwC-ji6wx3IwVU91mrSSlfrkhBH97H2iVWqFyg6FwsQR6KmeWORBl5DoDzvol5BqQMp95D8vX5Ge6uOhbF2BSEweaaDSGpVVqLHJT1DNJsddRbNDv1XOMRxO3k/s200/100_1030.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402327289536325426" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrtd1Aqf5IFXSEM0NxGFV3LOGCMTTCuR7IlHsMWfNOUI0OKl6w1j4tY10kvUssBk8ImwrOU8kImuzH-rlqLneIJox7fb9mcYKH1iekXluCNLXV8fZ2Afspx76rgrRYtlm4zMxlnOIXGhI/s1600-h/100_1028.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrtd1Aqf5IFXSEM0NxGFV3LOGCMTTCuR7IlHsMWfNOUI0OKl6w1j4tY10kvUssBk8ImwrOU8kImuzH-rlqLneIJox7fb9mcYKH1iekXluCNLXV8fZ2Afspx76rgrRYtlm4zMxlnOIXGhI/s200/100_1028.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402327287977655474" /></a>JacksonFamilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12418270321381526506noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-851027988350468981.post-44746544302687173562009-11-06T12:43:00.000-08:002009-11-09T20:23:17.603-08:00Anyone still there?<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKWgJpKiHG8NLTH-EfmuZNDxU9L2Kcy0M2WWmziR_MjbQMotUpOUH5powPNapSWOJp7tsLHyEl9fO4n5g_1vILqe7pfYgftgK4N0aW5eKbm_mH429MJAHjLGeqJflyoJ7oiWcs7uA4nFM/s1600-h/U2-me+%26+Dave"></a><div>Well, the events of the past two months haven't left much time for blogging. U2 tickets are the most sought off ticket in the Jackson household (next to conference of course). For months Dave and I have been looking forward to the concert. Our tickets were on the floor in the inner circle. Now, as great as that was to be that close to Bono, It was not great to be that close to 200+ complete strangers. I value my personal space way too much. Dave says he will always get floor tickets. As for myself, I think I can rock it just as good from my own seat that I don't have to share with anyone. And how we love having him as part of our family. Despite being surrounded by girls most of the time Quinn never lets us forget that he is all boy. He loves baseball, Transformers, Spiderman, riding his bike and swimming. He has no problem keeping up with his two older sisters and is so tender and sweet to his baby sister. For a little boy of four he has a lot to deal with concerning his food allergies and asthma but they don't slow him down one bit. He can be sweet and lovable, rough and tough, and way too demanding for his own good. We love you Quinn!
