I don't think it's that big a deal. I've been able to see what former primary students are up to, friends from H.S.& college, as well as the most exciting--friends from my past that have since joined the church. I would have no idea about all the joys going on in people's lives if it weren't for this technology. I think it's totally fun in moderation, and don't read too much into the idea of being 'friends' with someone.Gina H.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07107321331301244651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-851027988350468981.post-5905409195004085102009-02-07T21:30:00.000-08:002009-02-07T21:30:00.000-08:00Becca,I like facebook. So, now I am better - it gives me a balance of what was and what is now -Utah. I am careful about who I chose to view my page. Also, my niece became quite ill last night and my sister in law happened to be on facebook and was able to quickly drop us a note, which we got when we got home - it is quicker than email and is there for those you choose to see.Kristihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05894812771466048631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-851027988350468981.post-72353385117551535592009-02-04T20:32:00.000-08:002009-02-04T20:32:00.000-08:00I totally agree! And now i get about a million emails a day with people wanting to be my friend and it is really annoying!!!!!The Jackson Familyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02684228275646884509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-851027988350468981.post-58125440687939250542009-02-03T10:31:00.000-08:002009-02-03T10:31:00.000-08:00Becca-I totally agree with you! I just don't GET Facebook and I sure don't understand how it's a good idea to keep in touch with guys from your past - OR new ones that want to be your "friend". It seems fine for my single friends but for married people even when your intentions are super innocent, I just don't know that it's a good idea. Blogging is about all the fun "time wasting" I can afford, anyways. However, I really justify my blogging as being a great journal for our family... Not to say (like you) that I'm judging anyone out there that loves facebook. If I knew more about it and understood it's purpose better, maybe I'd be downs, but I really don't even have a desire to go there. No thank you! :)I'm glad I'm not the only one that wonders what all the hype is about.Chris and Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01356414758493694503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-851027988350468981.post-79011094446638776822009-02-02T13:49:00.000-08:002009-02-02T13:49:00.000-08:00Amen, Sister! I was turned off to facebook when my best friend e-mailed me and told me that my ex-boyfriend had found her on facebook and wanted to know how to contact me. Mmmm, no thanks. It seems totally innocent, and I'm sure in most cases it is, but I don't even want to go there. Besides, I don't have time to be on facebook chatting with everyone I've ever known, in my opinion that would take precious time away from my children (because I know I would spend way too much time there during the day).
